Sadly, after her divorce from Nigel in 1972, Elizabeth just couldn't seem to get her life together again. Very tragically, she committed suicide at Christmas 1974 after a period of serious depression.

Liz's body was cremated and her ashes were placed in her grandparents' (George and Eveline Knibbs) grave at Worting Cemetery, Basingstoke, and her name was added to the headstone.
