Notes for Kathleen Elsie WYKES:

Also known as: Kitty

I heard from Kitty in October 2009. She told me her married name is Krister and that she lives at Bellingen, NSW, Australia.

Her husband's name is John Krister and they married on 2 May 1947. They have a daughter Lesley.
__________

Kitty can be seen travelling from Liverpool to Port Said, Egypt on 3 June 1950 with an un-named infant girl aged about one year. The ship was called the Empress of Australia.
Kitty confirmed this was her with Lesley who was then aged about 18 months. They was joining her husband John (Sydney Joseph Krister) in Egypt. He was a Royal Air Force doctor who'd been posted to R.A.F. Deversoir, located approximately 19km south-southeast of Ismailia and 116km northeast of Cairo.

Kitty, her husband and daughter left for Australia in 1962. John had flown there in his RAF days and had already found a job.

John has The Order of Saint John. He became a Fellow of the Australian College of Medical Administrators and his later work was with the World Health Organisation and then the World Bank. He and Kitty went everywhere together and he was working in many third world countries, especially China.
